George Strait Coming To 2014 Bayou Country Superfest; Fest Expands To 3 Nights

Country superstar George Strait is scheduled to headline the first night of the 2014 Bayou Country Superfest at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge. The singer announced on its website this morning that will bring farewell Cowboy Rides Away Tour coming to the party on Friday, May 23, 2014 year.

During its first four years, the Bayou Country Superfest held on Saturday and Sunday of the weekend of Memorial Day. In 2014, for its fifth anniversary, expanding to three nights, May 23-25 , 2014.

Producers of the festival will announce the rest of the program in 2014, on October 29.

Strait takes a sold-out show at the New Orleans Arena in April as part of the 2013 leg of his farewell tour. Though he says the 2014 dates are his last tour, which has left open the possibility of specific actions in the future. And, apparently, plans to continue releasing new music.

His 2014 tour starts in Bossier City, Louisiana, on January 9 and includes 26 dates through June. Calling Strait outputs a "tour" is a bit exaggerated: It is usually only performed on weekends, and rarely more than two nights.

The shows advertised, date of Baton Rouge is the third to last. The only subsequent dates on your calendar are May 31 in Foxborough , Massachusetts, and a final concert in Dallas.

Shows Straits are famous low cost issues. The veteran singer and his Ace in the Whole band perform without the benefit of pyrotechnics or other bells and whistles.

Bayou Country Superfest is co -produced by a subsidiary of Quint Davis Festival Productions Inc. -New Orleans and national concert promoter AEG Live - the team that produces the New Orleans Jazz Festival presented by Shell & Heritage - in partnership with the Messina Group. Louis Messina, a native of New Orleans, has long promoted walks Strait.
